Over a year ago, we began regular dialogue with Roshan Melwani of Sana Tailor. For over 40 years, our military family and friends had been using this shop while in Hong Kong. We were thrilled to purchase our soon to be son in laws suit from them. We had originally intended to purchase an additional 8 suits for the Groomsmen and Fathers but after receiving our first suit, we became very concerned. Our son in law is not a tall lean man. He is a solider and a weight lifter and is built with thick muscles. On numerous occasions, we explained that a European style or slim cut suit would not fit his body style. The first go around of his suit included a very very skinny suit jacket, a shirt that was too short and trousers that were quite literally skin tight. After some back and forth, Roshan asked for the suit to be sent back to be fixed. We have asked for a new suit if proper alterations could not be made. We received the suit and found the jacket to STILL be too tight and the shirt to be a bit too baggy but were willing to overlook this if we could have new pants sent. This second pair of trousers are so tight that the pant seam is flattened by the tightness in the calves and thighs. The crotch of the pant still sits too low and is so tight it is inappropriately and grossly revealing of body parts thats should not be evident for a wedding . I asked for a new pair of pants to be sent. Over the past 24 hours. Roshan has been rude and difficult and insulting. He refuses to provide new pants unless I pay another $300. He has told me that my attempts to receive these pants are silly and a waste of dialogue. He has told me that he has provided pants twice that are consistent with the measurements we provided but does not seem to understand that the CUT/STYLE is wrong and therefore, the fit will always be bad. I have been more than communicative during this process by sending him photos of what we are hoping for, detailed instructions, photos of suits he has done previously and have done all of this as a Mother of the Bride and also a Wedding Planner and Designer by trade.
We have 5 weeks until a wedding. A wedding we are so blessed to have.. our daughter has spent the past 3 years fighting for her life.. she has learned to walk against. She has fought through a medically negligent medication overdose at a major hospital here in the United States. She has given up her dream job and fought thru almost dying. We have a military servicemember/ groom who has NO SUIT for this wedding. I have paid over $1000 for an unwearable suit and Mr Roshan now refuses to communicate with us AT ALL.
Not only have we felt unimportant and dismissed but also feel we would have been treated differently had we flown there, had more money or been able to provide him with more exposure.
I am asking again for new pants in the cut we have requested MANY TIMES and since the original order, to be provided immediately. We have offered to send these pants back. We do not wish to keep anything we do not need.
It is beyond comprehension that a company we have known all our lives is now leaving our daughters groom without a suit for his own wedding.
I will STRONGLY dissuade any military member or person who values customer service and integrity to ever work with Sam's Tailor and Roshan and will continue to fight for the beautiful day our daughter deserves with the man who loves her dearly.
