Following the Second World War and later the civil war in China, our founder Mr. William Cheng came to Hong Kong in 1950. Equipped with outstanding bespoke skills, he re-established himself as a small independent entrepreneur in the tailoring industry in 1958 serving both business associates and tourists came by ship.
Since then, the Company had been growing and established our shop channel. With the unexpected decease of Mr. William Cheng, the business was handed over to Mr. Sandy Cheng, the son of Mr. William Cheng in 1982 and renamed as William Cheng & Son. After the takeover, Sandy had devoted himself to learn the trade and also to further strengthen the relationship with customers. Taking the same footstep as his father, he continued the excellent services by offering a large variety of fabrics, skillful measurements, advices on styles and cutting, round-the-clock services to customers. In addition, he refused advertising and created a trustworthy ambience in the business.
Superior and stable product quality, reasonable pricing , meticulous towards the needs of customer and efficient operations are the fundamental concepts in running the Company. As a result, the number of customer has been increased tremendously over the years. The Company has successfully survived after the global financial crisis and disaster of SARS in Hong Kong. Today most of our customers came by word of mouth and a significant number of them are business associates. Some of the customers are even the third generation of a family.
More than ten years ago, Sandy also established the trip order channel in various countries. Starting from 2007, the Company was evolved from a family business to an enterprise with an expansion of professional staffs and production facilities. Since then, many entities have become our agents, taking orders all over the world. Mail order was originally a service complementary to shop order to facilitate overseas customer. Following the technological advancement and change of buying habit, this channel becomes more and more popular and the Company has decided to move one step further by creating the online channel in 2014.
In future, this latest channel is expected to enhance the autonomy of customer services and to provide a more convenient channel for placing order. Notwithstanding the technological and societal changes, the Company will always maintain the tradition to serve our customers professionally with utmost good faith.
